Configure system bay LED state

The system bay LED state can be configured on selected bays, in order to aid in locating them.

Prerequisites

  • Changing the state of LEDs can only be performed on storage systems that are fitted with either a door lightbar or bezels. If a door lightbar or bezel are not present, then the System Bay LED State displays the value N/A.
  • You cannot configure the LED state on a VMAX 250F or a PowerMax 2000 storage system. The System Bay LED State displays the value N/A.
  • When the state of the LED is Fast Blinking, the system is in maintenance mode and you are not permitted to configure the state. The System Bay LED State displays the value Fast Blinking.

About this task

A system may have multiple bays. For a single engine bay, there is only one engine in a system bay (eight system bays at the most). For a dual engine bay, there are two engines in a system bay (four system bays at the most).

Steps

  1. Select the storage system.
  2. Select System > System Properties.
  3. Click the Edit icon icon next to the System Bay LED State.
In the case where a system has more than one bay, there are multiple bay LED states.
  4. If the LED status is ON, you are asked if you want to change the status of the LED to Slow Blink. Slow Blink aids in the location of the LED. If the LED status is Slow Blink, you are asked if you want to reset the status to ON.
